Marcelo Abdo, current CEO of Ourofino Agrociência, has joined the founding partners of the company to structure the financial area since its beginning, in 2010. With over 24 years of experience in the financial market, he has occupied many positions with Banco do Brasil. Marcelo was the main person in charge of the M&A with the current partners of Ourofino, Mitsui &Co., Ltd. and Ishirara Sangyo Kaisha, Ltd. Marcelo majored in Economy in Pontificia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) and has taken post-graduation and executive programs courses in ESALQ-USP, FIA-USP and FGV.

Alessandro Flamini integrates the team of executives of Ourofino Agrociência since 2011, being currently the CFO of the company and responsible for the Credit and Charge, Structured Operations, Treasury, Controllership, Legal, IT and Fiscal Departments. Flamini brings 10 years of experience in Credit and Charge in Bayer Crop Science into his position. Flamini is an administrator graduated in Universidade Paulista (UNIP) and has taken executive program courses in Insper and Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC).

Regulatory Affairs Director

Thaís Clemente has been part of the Ourofino Agrociência team since the beginning of the operation. Currently, as Executive Director of Regulatory Affairs, she leads the strategic management of the company’s product portfolio. She has been working in Ourofino since 2006, accumulating more than 16 years of experience in the sector. Thaís is an agronomist and a master in plant Physiology from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP), with an internship program at the University of Florida (USA). She has an executive MBA and specialization in Strategic Innovation Management from Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC).

Procurement Director

Barbara Mendes joined the executive team of Ourofino Agrociência in 2019. Currently she is Director of Procurement, being responsible for the whole supply chain and business to business (B2B). Before coming to Ourofino Agrociência, Bárbara worked for 10 years in Ourofino Saúde Animal, as Procurement Manager, besides working in Gnatus Equipamentos Odontológicos. Bárbara is graduated in Business Administration with emphasis in Foreign Trade in Universidade de Franca and has an MBA in Business Management by the University of Teramo (ITA) and in Marketing by FUNDACE – USP.

Human Resources Director

Luciane D’Elboux has joined the team of executives of Ourofino Agrociência in 2021, taking the challenge of People Management and Social Performance of the company, as a director. With great experience in people management, corporate communication, social responsibility, and journalism, she has worked for Biolab Farmacêutica (8 years), Otis Elevadores and Plascar. Luciana has a degree in Journalism in the Pontifícia Universidade Católica in Campinas (PUC-CAMPINAS) and has gone through specialization courses such as an MBA in the Business School of São Paulo (BSP), FGV, UNIP and Casper Líbero, in the areas of human resources, business management and corporate communication.

José Edson de Carvalho Close
Industrial Director

José Edson Carvalho joined the executive team of Ourofino Agrociência in 2019, as an Industrial Director, responsible for all the production management of the company. He has 37 years of experience in the sector with relevant passages in Albaugh Brasil and Syngenta Crop Protection. Edson has a degree in Chemical Engineering in the University of São Paulo (USP) and an MBA in Business Administration and Production Management in FGV, besides specialization courses in the University of Warwick (UK) and INSEAD in Supply Chain.

Leonardo Campos Araújo Close
Marketing Director, R&D and RD&I.

Leonardo Araújo joined the executive team of Ourofino Agrociência in 2020, as Marketing, R&D and RD&I Director, being responsible for the whole portfolio management, market access, pricing, and competitive intelligence of the company. With great experience in the sector, Araújo has worked for Nortox and counts on over 15 years of work in Iharabas in the Commercial and Marketing areas. Araújo is an Agronomist graduated in Escola Superior de Agricultura e Ciências de Machado (ESACMA), having na MBA in business management focusing on strategy by FGV and International MBA in Business and Management in the University of California, Irvine (UCI).

Soshiro Nakaoka Close
Strategic Planning Director

Soshiro Nakaoka is part of the executive board of Ourofino Agrociência since 2019, as Director of Corporate Planning. He started his career in Mitsui & Co. in 2010. He has experience in the global finance team of Mitsui, with stays in Mozambique, Japan, and Brazil and actively in the execution of the M&A transaction between Mitsui/ISK and Ourofino. Nakaoka is graduated in Sociology by the Yokohama National University, in Japan and is currently taking a MBA course in Agribusiness in PECEGE/ESALQ.

Controllership Director

Eduardo Roncaglia de Carvalho has joined the team of executives of Ourofino Agrociência in 2023, his current role is Controllership Director overseeing the areas of Accountancy, Tax, Treasury, Facilities and Financial Planning (FP&A). He has over 20 years of experience in the sector, having had relevant passages in companies like Bayer, CCAB Agro and Valoriza Agronegócios in a variety of roles operating both in Brazil and LATAM. Eduardo has a degree in Economics with the Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, post graduated in Corporate Finances with FGV and certified by Fundação Dom Cabral in the Program of Counselors’ Development (PDC).

Hitoshi Kudo Mitsui

Hitoshi Kudo is currently the general manager of the Agriscience division of Mitsui & Co. and administration counselor of Ourofino Agrociência. He is graduated in Economy by Hitotsubashi University of Japan, having 11 years of experience in the financial area in Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank and an MBA by the University of Illinois in the USA.

He started his career in Mitsui & Co., in 2003 and from 2007 he was the responsible manager for the Chemical Business Development Department of the chemical division of Mitsui in New York. Throughout his career, he performed many projects of M&A in the Agriscience division of Mitsui, where he has been since 2019.

Hiroyuki Honda Mitsui

Hiroyuki Honda is currently deputy general manager in the chemical division of Mitsui New York and administration counselor of Ourofino. He is graduated in the chemical division of Applied Sciences by the University of Osaka, in Japan. 

He started his career in Mitsui & Co. in 1994, and from 2007, he worked as a general manager in the Department of Nutrition and Science in the chemical division of Mitsui New York. In 2021, he leaded the intermediate agricultural chemicals business in the Agriscience department of Mitsui. In 2019 he took up the position of General Manager in the Department of Nutrition and Agriculture of Mitsui in Brazil. In 2021 he became responsible for the agricultural business strategy in the Americas.

Luiz Antônio do Souto Gonçalves Independent

Mechanical Engineer by UERJ, with a master’s degree in production engineering and an MBA in finance by COPPE/UFRJ. He has over 30 years of experience in the financial and capital market.

He has had a career in BNDES and in BNDESPAR and in the planning, urban Mobility and Entrepreneurial Capital areas, being the main executive of the Private Equity and Venture Capital from BNDES, he was part of the Administration Council in many companies and is currently a Counselor of Stara S.A., Ourofino Química S.A. and BDMG.

Marcos Fava Neves Independent

Marcos Fava Neves is a professor of the Business Administration Faculty in the University of São Paulo in Ribeirão Preto and FGV in São Paulo. Neves is an Agronomic Engineer graduated in the Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz (USP), Where he took all his post-graduation courses in business strategies and became a professor in USP at 40 years old. He complemented his post-graduation courses in France and Netherlands in Wageningen. Neves is also an International Professor in the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina), Purdue, Indiana, (USA) and in University of Pretoria (South Africa). He is specialized in strategic planning and management, having over 300 projects in Brazilian and global agribusiness. He is a shareholder of 5 companies, being 3 of them startups. Author and organizer of 75 books published in 10 countries, over 200 articles in international and national scientific journals, receiving 5000 mentions according to Google Academics, one of the most mentioned Brazilian scientists worldwide. He was a columnist in the China Daily Newspaper from Beijing and of Folha de São Paulo, besides writing articles for O Estado de São Paulo and Valor Econômico having over 600 articles published in newspapers. He was interviewed by the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, and CNN having given over 1500 lectures in 22 countries, being one of the most known and respected Brazilians internationally in the agribusiness area.

Shinji Tsuchiya is graduated in Economy by the University Hitotsubashi in Japan, he has been working in global industries for 38 years and was the CEO of Mitsui Brasil until the beginning of 2019. He has had many strategic positions during his career, such as: Vice COO of Mitsui Asia Pacific, General Manager of Chemical Business Development and Senior Vice President of Mitsui USA. His professional path is marked by a vast experience in international commerce, investments, and business development. He is a member of COSAG (Superior Council of Agribusiness – FIESP) since 2019 and financial director of the Hospital Japonês Santa Cruz since 2021.

Accounting Entrepreneur for over 40 years, with an office that oversees over 500 clients of almost all commercial, industrial, service areas besides non-profit entities, with a team of 75 people. 

Graduated as an Accountancy Technician and Post-graduated in FEA-USP, Bacharel in Business Administration in Unaerp and Law in Unip. Certified as Fiscal Counselor by IBGC – Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance.

Assignments: 

  • Analyze initiatives related to research, development, and technological innovation in the agribusiness and agriscience areas, specially related to chemical and biological agricultural crop protection and nutrients.
  • Research and analyze technological platforms for different departments involved in the Strategic Innovation Committee. 
  • Assess, propose, develop and/or follow strategic projects, budget proposals and innovation investment proposals. 
  • Follow the implementation of policies and perform due recommendations and/or guidelines. 
  • Aid the Board in the analysis and in the development of innovation projects.
